Do you charge for coaching?
A network marketing professional is different than a life coach. I don’t provide coaching for a fee.
If you already have your own home business, welcome! I’m happy you’re here and I hope you find lots of value in The Authentic Networker. But I want to be super clear: I only work one-on-one with members of my personal business team.
I love writing about my experiences on The Authentic Networker. Right now, I’m also hand-picking motivated, real people to work on my personal team, in my direct sales business. This means that if you’re interested in working with me, I will show you the company I work with, and then do my best to help you objectively assess whether it’s right for you.
If you like my company, and you choose to partner with me and build your own business, then you’d become part of my team. Along with my very successful upline, I provide all my team members hands-on coaching and mentorship.
If I want to work with you, what would be expected of me?
You’ll need to consistently work on your business for several hours a week. The amount you work is up to you, but I’m only looking for people who are serious about putting in consistent effort. Ideally, you’ll commit to a long-term business plan for 3 to 5 years. Your results will depend on the time, training, and effort you put in.
Is there anyone you don’t work with?
If you build a business with me, I will spend hours with you on training, goal setting, and providing ongoing support. So please understand that I am carefully selective about the people I choose to work with.
My team is not for you if you aren’t coachable. It’s also not for you if you won’t take the action to build your business. I will not chase you if you make excuses for not doing the work.
I don’t work well with cynical, negative, or draggy people. So if your glass is half-empty, if you don’t like network marketing, if you aren’t ready to work, or you can’t follow basic coaching, then I wish you well… But I am definitely not the ideal business partner for you.
You should understand up front that a home business is just that. A business. Not a job. A business requires an investment to get started. It isn’t a huge amount of money – far less than a traditional business. However, if you’re in dire financial straits, this may not be for you right away.
Network marketing can replace a full-time income, but this usually takes time to develop. If you are hoping to find a get-rich-quick scheme, this isn’t it! It’s a business, and it has to be treated like a business in order to see results.
Is a home business really right for me? How do I know for sure?
I’m asked this question every day. People see a ray of hope, but they have experience with an uncle whose business failed, or an annoying neighbor who nags them to buy things. As with any other profession, there is a right way to go about your business and a wrong way. I strive to demonstrate the right way, and to teach you to do the same.
I created the How to Get Started in Business PDF to help you get to the bottom of this decision. It’s designed to help you evaluate a business opportunity. Read it, and take an honest look at your life to see if a home business might help you. It certainly isn’t the right fit for everyone, and you’ll be able to tell pretty quickly whether or not it’s for you.
Download the PDF and answer the questions. Nobody ever needs to see it but you. But complete the whole PDF. There are some really good questions in there. You deserve to give yourself the clarity to decide on next steps.
Do I have to live in your city if I want to work with you?
We live in Toronto, Canada – but you don’t need to. If you live in Canada, the United States, Australia, or the UK, we can work with you on the phone and online. Whenever possible, we will also connect you to a local team in your country, city or state so that you have on-the-ground support.
What results can I expect?
If you join our team, you can expect to:
- Learn from simple training materials;
- Have enough support to begin working right away;
- Build a legitimate business with integrity that touches many people;
- Develop a second income that pays residuals;
- Set attainable goals;
- Meet mentors and friends who support you;
- Connect with successful leaders through phone calls, webinars and live events;
- Learn how to integrate this part-time project into your busy life;
- Begin a personal development journey to become the best version of yourself.
As with any business, your results will ultimately depend on your level of activity, skill, and commitment. I do not in any way make income claims. It is entirely up to you: you may never make a dime with your business, or you may make a million dollars. That being said, the earning potential is unlimited. You can grow the business as large or as small as you find comfortable.
I am so excited to work with you! How do I get started?
Congratulations on choosing to start your own business! If you’re new to home business, first make sure you’ve read my e-book and answered the questions for yourself. Then schedule a Get Acquainted call with me. I look forward to helping you take action! Rest assured, I will never ask you to buy or sign anything until you’re absolutely sure you want to work with me.
Can a busy person do this? How much time do I need?
Yes, a busy person can do this! You just need to work it into your schedule. I honestly think that your success will depend on two things – your motivation to do the work, and your ability to make time for it consistently.
What goal is driving your decision to start a home business right now? With that goal in mind, are there unproductive hours in your life you can redirect? Can you consistently carve out 5 to 15 hours a week?
I believe the absolute minimum to build this business is 5 hours a week. That’s one hour at nights on weeknights, or perhaps on your lunch hour.
More time is better, of course. But if you work less than five hours a week, then you will likely be overwhelmed. Don’t jump in until you figure out how you are going to prioritize this business. Make it a priority in your life to adjust your schedule.
Don’t forget to consider the long term in your planning. If you work 10-15 hours a week for 3 years, you’ll do much better than if you only work 2 hours a week for 3 months. I am happy to help you figure it out! Schedule a Get Acquainted call with me and we can talk about the timing in your life.
My spouse needs convincing. What do I say to them?
This is a great question—it is so important that your spouse understands and supports what you are trying to do.
If your spouse is reluctant, that’s understandable. I know this because I myself was the reluctant spouse when my husband first wanted to start our home business! I love my husband and I wanted to manage risk for him. Home business, like anything new, involves an element of risk, as well as an element of putting yourself out there. It’s important that you do your due diligence.
Rather than verbally explaining your business (which, by the way, often seems to fail spectacularly!), try to show your spouse the same information that you have seen. Even better – download my free e-book and go through those questions together.
I’d be happy to recommend resources to help your spouse understand your business plans. Schedule a Get Acquainted call with me and we can chat about your spouse’s specific questions and concerns.
My friend sent me to this page because I’m looking at her business. Can I join your team instead?
I place a high value on professionalism and loyalty. If someone you know has invited you to view their business opportunity, don’t jump ships! It’s important for you to make your decision on its own merit.
If your friend’s business feels like a fit, then go with it! Working with friends is one of the huge benefits of network marketing.
On the other hand, if your friend’s business isn’t the right fit, be honest with them. Honour their time and effort by declining respectfully. This will close the loop so they aren’t left hanging. If you are still looking for a business at that point, schedule a Get Acquainted call with me – I’d love to talk about options that fit your goals.
